CyberViewer

I have successfully downloaded "CyberViewer" in the past but,after a major crash, no longer have the icon to call up the program. "Find File" locates it in Extensions and presence is verified but I cannot find the icon to activate. What should I do?

Try rebuilding the desktop (either by holding down the Option and Command keys at bootup or - preferably - by using Techtool) and if that fails to produce the icon, run Norton's Disk Doctor and see if it can locate or create a new one.

I don't know Cyberviewer but another option is to remove any preferences for it from the System folder, and reboot. Otherwise, reinstall completely if you have an installer version. Last possibility is to use Norton's Fast Find to see if the icon has become hidden - Fast find can show it and can be used to make it visible again.

 I have since been advised by Extensis that Cyberviewer is currently not compatible with Netscape Communicator which I have been using. The answer by rifty enabled me to get the CyberViewer window displayed even though I could not activate it.

If anyone receives notice from Extensis that there is a fix to the problem I would appreciate being notified.

I guess one solution might be to use Netscape 3.02 instead of Communicator, if it doesn't have compatibility problems with CyberViewer and you are really keen on the latter.

I will stick with Communicator for now. CyberViewer is convenient but not irreplaceable.
