Avi Files

As a beginner using Delphi 3, I would like to try adding some animation to my programs.
What program can I use to make an avi file for my program.

Hi

There are various options here. Video capture cards allow you to create AVI files from video - be careful of copywrite issues here.

Animated titles can be created using programs as diverse as bitmap editors such as Corel Photopaint, 3D rendering programs such as Caligari TrueSpace or video editing and creation tools such as Adobe Premiere.

The program you use will depend on the type of AVI file you wish to create.

To play the AVI in your Delphi program - the simplest option is to use the Media Player.

Good luck!

Yo,

since you are using Delphi 3, maybe the TAnimate-Control in the Win32-Tab would be nicer for playback. You can easily use it without any AVIs if you play system animations (like in the FileCopy-dialog in Explorer).
If you use it with your own animations, the AVI-format has to be uncompressed or RLE-compressed.
