Heavy Gear Freeze

My screen freeze up when I am playing Heavy Gear in Story mode mission 4.  I have to shut down the game and restart it then it happens again and again!  
I have:
Pentium 200
64MB Ram
STB Powergraph 3D
Canopus Pure 3D
and all the latest drivers for my hardware and D3D 5.0

Is Heavy Gear DOS-based or Win95-based game ?

After digging USENET, I returned with this answer:
Install new redline.dll from the CD.
