"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Port 20 is normally used for ftp-data.. what are you trying to do?

To redirect ports you can use ipfwadm.

Redirect TCP port 1430 to 20
ipfwadm -I -a accept -P tcp -D this.host 1430 -r 20

Other options is to use a proxy, like redir or similar.

I don't beleive that you can switch the two ports (1430 redirected to 20, and 20 redirected to 1430) by other means than having the server processes to switch ports.
