Your getting slower connection speeds because the telephone lines between you and your isp can only handle speeds of 28.8; it has nothing to do with your comp or your isp. Connection speeds, however, are misleading. If you really want to know how fast your going, than check out your download speeds, that is a much better indicater of how fast you are travelling on the net.<br />

I have 33.6 modem but I never get connected to my ISP faster than 28.8. I installed the same modem on a friend's computer and they use the same ISP and I can get connected to to the ISP at 33.6 on their computer so it must be related to how my computer. How do I fix???? Thanks, allie
