Can i use an Ultra-ATA HD with an EIDE controller

Can i use an Ultra-ATA HD with an EIDE controller ?, as I understand it EIDE is ATA-2, adn Ultra-ATA is ATA-2 compatible is that true ?

yes but speed of data transfer will be on as high you can spend $70 new add on pci card ultra ide controler but on www.onsale.com/sscp.html   you can buy new motherboard with ultra, usb, ps/2 mouse for 65 .
