I have a couple of folders that have moved down my favorites list. : (  I have checked the properites in Windows Explorer and they are sorted by name.  I have also tried organizing favorites in IE 4, only to find it the same way.  Thanks in advance.

When you click on the Favourites button, your favourites are shown in the left part of the window. Now you only have to drag-and-drop (hold down the left button while moving the favourite/folder) the folders to whatever order you want.

Hope this helps!

I use the favorites menu choice instead of the button.  : (  My button does show them fine, and I was able to move them as you suggested.  Still cannot get the menu choice to display them as they used to.  Pretty Strange!

I have tried the menu and my favorites are sorted by name but I can't change the order so I agree with you, Strange!
With the menu 'Organize Favorites ...' I can only move a favorite from one folder to another, not change the order.
The folders that aren't in name order, do they have any non-alphabetic characters in the beginning or the order entirely random?

Did this start at the same time as your other IE4 problem?  If so, I would just assume a corrupted version of the software and reinstall

May have been. I guess I will rip it off and put a new one on.  Not a big deal, but it seemed easy enough to fix.?! : )  Thanks for your help.

Try the following:
1) go to "organize favorites"
2) click button on far right "details"
3) you should now have a button bar on top of each column.
4) press the "name" bar to toggle between ascending or descending

I could not tell from reading previous remarks if these steps have been taken. If you still cannot change the order I would recommend removing your IE4.0 and reinstall.
Hope this helps.

It did not work. : (  I removed and reinstalled two days ago to no avail.  The folder that annoys me most is "reading material" which I use often and for some reason it had moved way past the rest of the folders and into the regular shortcuts.  I have since put all the shortcuts in folders so even though it is out of order, at least it is not too far away.  Thanks!
