can i use delphi components/controls in visual basic 5?
which database tool is suitable for delphi? i am planning on
using access 97 in delphi 3. will there be a problem?
what is bde engine i heard someone saying abt this.
will delphi 3 be more suitable or visual basic if i am doing
a financial planner application like ms money?

delphi components can be used in vb5 and former versions
at this case u have 2 use the msaccess utils that r included - but 4 using the msaccess97 - since delphi 3 is older than msaccess97 - u have 2 get the new bde engine - the borland site and many more offer this engine - this engine is some king of a converting engine that lets delphi recognize the msaacess db !
what u have 2 consider while choosing the db engine or lets say access or delphi - is - if your application will support a huge ammount of records - i recoment the paradox 7.0 or the oracle db usage - access have some problem to manage optimatly a large amount of data

but my school don't have paradox 7..
i can only use access 97
can u point me to download of the bde engine?
