I have a bitmap on my dialog (an about box). I want to show
some text information (variable at run time) on this bitmap. How do I create a static control so that it is transparent and shows only the text. (I tried setting the 'transparent' extended style of the static control without success).

Why not just use OnPaint on the dialog and draw the text using DrawText()?
