Borland Database Engine on Win95 Network

How can i put my database (paradox format) on a computer in a network (win95) and access it from other computers?
I have set an alias to point to the network directory, I set the databasename property of all of my tables to the alias name but I keep receiving the msg "Directory is locked" or something like this...

How do I login using a password?

You must distribute the BDE to all the workstations from whom you want to access the paradox files and reconfigure the alias to the appropriate path.

When you use a database object, you can set the LoginPrompt property on True.

Dear TeRReF, I edited the q. to comment that I set the alias.

The reason for posting this question is about that "dir is locked" msg.

Thanx for the password issue. I will give it a try.

That's probably because the database not configured to allow multiple users at the same time. So if a user is using the database at that moment, no one else is allowed. You must enable mutiple access  to solve your problem...

Good luck !

did you set the net dir in bde paradox page.

in muti user env. this is important to make sure every one
who want to read write datebase, will be recorded that bde can
manage it.
