Is there any where that I can get hold of a piece of text scanner software off the web in the form of shareware (I don't want to pay for it afterall now do I!!!!)
I was after something like omnipro but I don't think that it is shareware. I woul;d like to have something for the mac.
Any suggestions?????

no such thing....not to mention the fact that to get GOOD character recognition yer gonna haveta shell out the bux. sure page manager that ships with astra scanners will translate pixels to characters but its not especially good at it.

I got a demo of Omnipage with my scanner and it works really well if the document is clean. Surf around for demos. i checked calera.com and no dice, but i bet there's some out there somewhere.
