open an document in new window?

We cam open a new url using :
  getAppletContext().showDocument(URL);
but how to open a document in a new browser window, not the current window?

showDocument(URL,String)

where the second arg is the name of the window.  If it doesn't exist (or if it's "_blank"), it will open a new window.
