Epson Colour 500 printing yellow lines

My epson 500 Colour has started printing yellow lines across the page.  They were originally blue but then changed to yellow.  I've tried changing all the colour options and the spooling options and tried the printer with two different machines on Win3.1 and Win95 and with two different cables. I've also tried new catridges and taking the thing apart and cleaning everything.  The problem persists.  Any ideas?

It may be a technical fault in the printer.....Did you send it to the technician to try out? Just a thought

Sending it away to a technician is kind of my last resort, I'm hoping to fix it myself to save a significant amount of money.  Thanks anyway.

Thanks for all your suggestions but you may, or may not, be pleased to know I fixed the problem last night.  I recalibrated the printer with the provided software which I only found out about after seeing a reference to it on the Epson Web Site.  Although it took two attempts it's resolved the problem.  Thanks again for all your help
