Does anyone know what kind of memory can be used in this printer? EDO ? Fast Page ? SIMM ? I know its 72 pin but am not sure of the details, also how can I check that my computer system knows its there and or the printer knows its there (ie ...is the memory working)?

    Thanks

Your printer will max out at 4MB, The memory needs to be PARITY ram, and the way for you to insure that the printer recognizes the additional memory is to print a self test page from the printer.

The only configuration you'll need to do for Windows is under your printer driver, if it does offer those configuration settings which is unusual.

This printer does not check for Parity, so you can use Non-Parity. There is nothing in the driver to configure for the memory and there is no settings page. If you add the SIMM and get a green light, you are all set. Use a 72 pin, 70ns or faster, DRAM goldfinger, 1MB or 4MB, FPM ... you can use EDO if you can't find FPM.  It is a host based printer, so adding memory to the PC may give you a greater benefit.
