This is how I do it in Delphi 2.0. You can close the prog from taskbar-rightclick-close but not via ALT-F4

unit Unit1;

interface

uses
  Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Classes, Graphics, Controls, Forms, Dialogs, StdCtrls;

type
  TForm1 = class(TForm)
    procedure FormCreate(Sender: TObject);
    procedure FormCloseQuery(Sender: TObject; var CanClose: Boolean);
    procedure FormKeyDown(Sender: TObject; var Key: Word;
      Shift: TShiftState);
  private
    { Private declarations }
  public
    { Public declarations }
    KeyedClose : boolean;
  end;

var
  Form1: TForm1;

implementation

uses database, mainfrm;

{$R *.DFM}

procedure TForm1.FormCreate(Sender: TObject);
begin
  KeyedClose := True;
end;

procedure TForm1.FormCloseQuery(Sender: TObject;
  var CanClose: Boolean);
begin
 CanClose := KeyedClose;
 KeyedClose := True;
end;

procedure TForm1.FormKeyDown(Sender: TObject; var Key: Word;
  Shift: TShiftState);
begin
  KeyedClose := True;
  if ssAlt in Shift then
    if (Key and vk_F4) <> 0 then
       KeyedClose := False;
end;

end.
