Print band problem.

This question may fall into the software domain rather than
a pure printer problem. One of the users on my network (NT)
gets the message "Items could not be printed, next print band could not be retrieved" upon trying to get a hard copy
of an e-mail from Microsoft Exchange client, and the printer will not print. All other applications print o.k. The client
is running Windows for Workgroups 3.11. The printer is an HP 5L on LPT1:, not shared.

Does anybody have any ideas? I would like to know a) What is a print band  b) The cause and possible resolution of this problem.

                            thanks
                            Gary
