I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The rockfire home page is located at:

Their drivers aren't posted, but are at ftp://rockfire.com/tw/Drivers

This is the instruction:

Welcome to our INF File
This file will do as follow:
1.        Reinstall the device driver for the Joystick.
2.        Add the item of the Rockfire porducts in the "Joysticks Selection" list.
3.        Restart the computer, and finish installation.

If you can see a Joystick icon on your control panel, it means you have the joystick device driver in your computer. Don’t install the game controllers directly, please. Or you might meet a problem of conflicting between the device driver. The device driver will be reinstalled in the process of installation, so please follow the direction here step by step to install your new game controller:

1.        Check if there is a joystick icon on your controller panel, if so go to the next step; if
not, go to step 9.
2.        Click on the system icon on the control panel.
3.        Click on the "Device Manager".
4.        Select "Sound, Vedio and Game Controllers" in the list.
5.        Select "Gameport Joystick"
6.        Click " Remove".
7.        You ‘ll see the " Confirm Device Removal" dialogue square, Click on "OK". If you have several Gameport Joysticks, please repeat this process to remove all of them. Then check if they were all removed.
8.        Click on "OK" on the bottom of the "System Properties" screen. And return to the "Control Panel".
9.        Click on "Add New Hardware" icon.
10.        You’ll see "Add New Hardware Wizard" then click "Next".
11.        You’ll see " Windows will now search for any new plug and play device on your system" on this dialogue square.
12.        Select "Sound, Vedio and Game Controllers" from the list of "Hardware types". Then click "Next".
13.        Click "Hard disk"
14.        You’ll see the dialogue square "Install From Disk". Input the path or click "Browse" to find out the path and select it.
15.        Then click "OK".
16.        On dialogue square " Select Device" you’ll see "Gameport Joystick" them click on "OK".
17.        The screen will show you the resource you are going to install.
18.        Then the Gameport device driver is being installed, this procedure need the installation program. Put the Win95 CD into the CD-ROM, and click on "Next"

There isn't a driver as such. This is the Driver Information File which tells the MS Windows Joystick driver which options to use, in the same way as many Postscript printers share a PSCRIPT.DRV but have a different data file which identifies the printer, and avaliable paper options.

It's not my fault Rockfire don't have a specific driver!
