Correct COM Port handling

Hi All,

I've got a problem with COM port handling using API functions. The problem is, how to avoid WaitCommEvent function. Is there something solution?
The second problem is, how to set correctly the port.
I mean the flow control options etc.

Look first at the source code of this freeware component from M.Cocco,
Excelent handling of the comm-ports!!!
