LBA2 (Twinsen's Oddeysey)
I need to play this without the CD - can anyone tell me how?
I don't think you would be able to do this as the program it self would be to big for the computer to open and run!!!!

O.K. let me rephrase what I am after. I have a copy of the CD, It installs O.K. but then when I go to play it, It asks me for the CD - I am assuming it does some form of check (spaces in front of the data track - etc the usual) I need to be able to get around this - ie a crack
There is a program out there called FakeCD.
It will let your PC run CDROM games without requiring the CDROM!
Get it at this URL-- http://home.kamp.net/home/stefan.kirschdorf/cd_emul_fakecd.htm
Want to know more about it? Read on...
FakeCD is a program that simulates a CD-ROM drive with a directory of a hard drive. It's intended purpose is to allow running of CD-based
software entirely from a hard drive. This gives you the following advantages:
Speed:
Hard drives are much faster than CD-ROMs. If you need much data from your mass storage device in a short time your CD-ROM may be a
bottleneck. This can result in "slide shows" in certain games. However, your CPU horsepower or your video interface may be the problem if a
CD-based program is slow. With fakecd you can eliminate one potential bottleneck and watch how the program runs with a very fast
"CD-ROM drive".
Memory:
You don't need to load a CD-ROM driver or MSCDEX for fakecd to work (although they can coexist). If your program needs much
conventional memory this may allow you to run the program at all.
CD-Audio:
Some games use audio tracks for music. This music is not in a computer readable form. It was not copied to the hard disk with the other files
and it can not be done (at least not in a form useful for fakecd). So you will not hear that music. fakecd will however make the program believe
that everything is fine.
There you go....the complete answer!

Nup does not work from the CD copy let alone fakeCDing it. There is nothing wrong with the copy but I believe it has something to do with a licence check. I have tried it with VirtualCD (a far better version of CD emulation than fakeCD) and it does not wirk.
Okay, so if I find you a crack for it-- is that what you want?

Yes please.

Nup, this file didn't work. The .NFO file says it has fixed the LBA2.DOS file but same prob as before applying hack.
The comment on the hack says:
"hopefully this will work"
maybe there is a newer version?
