Which way can I produce good-quality sprites? I want to develop a game written in C.

1. use vector to draw the image (The quality is not that
                                 good)
2. use bitmaps (but still I have to draw it myself)
3. Scan real images (but I don't have a scanner)

Any of the above methods will work just fine. Although scanning the images may make poor sprites (depending upon their size) and it could slow them down (depending upon their color depth and size)
