Hi,

I was wondering if there was a website or a good book which would teach me some basic troubleshooting for printers connected to both types of platforms. What is the best tip you can give me on how to familiarize myself with printers and how they connect to Macs/PCs over this next summer.  Thanks

We can help you troubleshoot problems here here, and you could pick up some troubleshooting steps by watching questions & their answers as they are posted here.

As far as books, take a look at www.amazon.com and look for Troubleshooting & Repairing Printers, a book that covers basic printing clear through indepth printer repair.

These are some very basic questions you're asking here.  If you could ask some more specific questions I will be better able to help you.

Hope this helps!
