Access and isql like program

Is there a program for access97 that performs
the same type of functions the isql does.  
ISQL is a command-line utility for running queries against
a SQL Server database.  Of course, it needs to be able
to do select, insert, update and deletes from the command

I don't know of one commercially available, but it is easy to write something like this in VB.  I have written a number of "SQL" processors in VB that work from external SQL streams.  It's a trivial set of code.  You just open a connection to the specified database, examine the command, and either open a recordset or perform an execute method - it's really that simple in VB.
