Jaz Drive and CD player

When the Jaz Drive is connected to my Performa 6320CD, the internal CD player isn't recognized by the system.  What can I do to correct this?  And also the Jaz Drive won't stay connected, though it is firmly connected to the serial port in the back of the hard drive.  Are these problems related and what should I do about this?

well first off ill take a guess that your jaz drive is set to ID 3? thats the ID of your CD drive. thus things just wont work. as for not staying connected? well if you jaz drive is connected to the serial port its not going to work anyway...serial is for modems and printers..not jaz drives..i dont even think the two will interface. i think fixing your ID conflicts will solve your problems.

I accidently said serial port!  It was supposed to just say connected to the hard drive (not sure of what those ports are called).  How do I check which port the Jaz Drive is set to and how do I change that?

Thanks weed!

you can only connect it to your scsi port (small computer serial interface). Its for HD's n stuff...as far as ID's go there should be a switch on the back of your jaz that lets you set the ID.
