Iam using auditcon on intranetware 4.11 is there any way of "linking into" the log file, so that a better front end can be programmed instead of using auditcon to produce the reports.

any ideas??

Apparently Novell opens up the APIs enough so a few third parties have written high-end NDS auditing tools.  You may find more specifics at http://developer.novell.com or in the Web-based developer forums you can access from there.  Meanwhile, here's Novell's recently updated tech info document in response to people wanting more than AUDITCON offers:

3rd Party NDS Auditing Programs  (Last modified: 20MAR1998)

This document (2933448) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

     Issue

Novell offers limited auditing capabilities through NWAdmin and Auditcon. Other 3rd party companies have written software with more extensive capabilities. Novell does not endorse one  companies product over another. This document is designed to provide auditing alternatives to customers with high-end auditing needs. Please submit any other comparable auditing product alternatives by either emailing a request through the webmaster (external) or by contacting the author of this document (internal).

Currently Novell is aware of the following Auditing products:
AuditWare for NDS by Cheyenne (formerly Preferred Systems)* - www.cheyenne.com/directory
AuditTrack by WebTrends Corporation (Bindery and NDS) - www.audittrack.com

     * See article in the April 1996 Novell Application Notes entitled "Auditing NDS Objects with AuditWare for NDS" for more detailed information.
