Problem of Login a company intranet

Our staff members need to enter the domain name, their user id and password to login our intranet.

e.g. user id : ehk_dm\userid.

It is very inconvenient.  We don't want to enter the domain name. What can I do so the users enter the userid and password only.
We only have one domain and our web server is IIS.

The IIS has got Front Page Server Extensions ?

The users are not using MS Internet explorer ?
I think that the MS IE is the only Web browser that is capable of a WIN NT challange response login.

Otherwise i believe that its possible to set a default domain
to the Front Page Extensions

Yes, the IIS has already got the FrontPage Extension and all the users use MS IE as browser.
Then how can I set the default domain?

Do you have NT challange response enabled on the IIS ?
Then it should work since you only have one domain !

Otherwise: this is a default domain problem:
In the Frontpage Permissions dialouge you cant grant the accounts rights since they doesn't show up ? Or ?
