Hi all,

Ok, I finally have D3! Yes!! And they are all already talking about D4 :-((. But heck I've D3....

Now, I ordered D3 and the patch to D3.01..... BUT looking at the received CD's, I don't see any difference!!

Except, one od them was packed with the books and the other not.

Also if I install one of them they both have version number 3 and the same build number (think 5.83)

Is this normal? Please help me, so that I can give the correct information at the seller.

Regards, ZiF.

Hi JB, thanks for your quick response. I also have the professional version.

Both CD's seem to give me v3.0 build 5.83. Where should be the difference then? How to localize it?

Tom.

Hi Zif

My Delphi32.exe has file version 3.0.5.83.

Maybe your 1st CD was actually 3.01???  Did you order it from Borland?  Unfortunately I don't have my original Delphi 3 CD, only the 3.01 CD, but I remember that the CDs looked the same so I wrote "3.01" on the new CD so that I could see the difference!

Cheers,
JB

Hi JB,

Yes, It looks like I've two got 3.01...

I ordered it from a software company here in Belgium.

Maybe if somebody still has 3.0 we 'll know more.

Regards, Tom.

Hi all,
I have D3.02. The D3.01/02 update patches the library/source files of the RTL/SYS/VCL, not the Delphi binaries. Take a look at the file dates in your .\SLib directory. The updated files should have a timestamp of 4:00 for D3.0, 4:01 for D3.01 and 4:02 for D3.02. Note that not any file has been updated.

Cheers,

Hi d003303,

In both CD's at the RunImage\Delphi30\SLib directory the files have been modified at 5/08/97 3:01

Hi Zif,
all files in the RunImage\Delphi30\SLib on my 3.0 CD are dated 24.03.97 3:00, and on the 3.01 CD 05.08.97 3:01. Try to inserted a different CD before you insert the second Delphi CD, maybe the disk cache hasn't recognized the CD change.
I have the international (US english) version of Delphi, maybe that's the point ?

Hi all,

I have also international (US English) version of Delphi. Still both have 05.08.97  3:01, even after inserting a different CD. So, I think we may conclude that I have two Delphi CD's with version 3.01....

Regards, ZiF.
