CGI executing problem with c

I am running a cgi called init.exe that recives one parameter ( a=1 ).
the cgi runs and terminate but i get the following error message:


internet explorer cannot open the internet site               http://server:8080/cgi-bin/init.exe?a=1
      operation was complitted successfuly.

what is the problem of this ?

I would guess that the EXE file is not on a server that supports EXE.  Maybe you should try renaming the file to init.cgi
