HP-UX 10.01 and HP JetDirect 5SI Printer

I am using Jetadmin D04.12 on Solaris 2.5/2.5.1 boxes and HP's with virtually the same configuration.  The Jetadmin works fine on the SUN's, but not on the HP's.  The HP's complain about not being able to get an SNMP request back.
However, the SUN's inetd.conf file is the same as the HP's essentially, and the cables are all fine.  I can ping the printer and have double-checked the snmp communities.
Any suggestions?

What ROM revision is your JetDirect card using?  The most recent is 5.12, I think.

Download the latest revision, that sould take care of it.

If not, reject this answer and we can take it from there.

How do I check the ROM version?  I telnet in and no menu display shows a choice for checking this.



BTW ... I appreciate your politeness in the wording of your answer.  SOme of the other experts should follow your example.

Good question, why can't you ask an easier one.
I know that you can get this info from a standard print-test page.

You're telnet-ing into these to administer them? Yuk,
That's like building a ship from inside the bottle.

Check out HP's site (and I will as well), and let's see if we can't figure this out.

This is now resolved.  I executed a /usr/sbin/swremove and totally removed any reference to Jetadmin from the HP Box.
Then I reinstalled the newest version of HP JetAdmin, which is D4.12 and it now works.
