how can i read the win95 dir from the registry ?

I am not certain what you mean... if you mean "how can I find out what directory win95 is installed in?", then you don't need the registry to do it:

UINT GetWindowsDirectory(

    LPTSTR lpBuffer,      // address of buffer for Windows directory
    UINT uSize       // size of directory buffer
   );      

Returns the length of the string placed into the buffer.

You can get the System dirctory with GetSystemDirectory (same arguments).
