Save Load line in a canvas

How can I save/load my drawing. I have a program to draw chart but I would like to save the chart in a file

What exactly is your chart? Or rather what do you mean by saving the chart? If the chart is produced by the code in your class then you can always recreate it by using the same code. If the chart is a GIF file you can save it on disk by writing a file and then reading it back. If there is some data for a chart which a stored in some object you can serialize the object and then restore it. Or you can print a chart to a file (but then you won't be able to load it back).
