named dies unexpectedly

I have a linux system which runs as a nameserver. Every few days named dies for no reason that I can see.I need a suggestion as to what may cause this.

Have you looked in the /var/adm/messages for any clues as to why it's quitting?  named logs it's happenings to that file by default.  You might try running it with a debug level.

Try: named -d 8

and see if anything useful shows up in the log.
