I need to figure out whether or not you can attach a Tayaka (CD-812) CD-ROM to a Sound Blaster 16 (CT2230).
I have three IDE interface slots on the sound card (Panasonic, Matsumi, and Sony).  Can the Takaya
be attached to one of these interfaces. If so, what kind of drivers do I need.

You will not be able to attach your cdrom to the sound card. The controllers on your sound card are for proprietary cdrom drives, and it appears that you have a atapi compliant drive. You can attach the drive to your motherboards ide or eide controller(this is most likely the same controller your hard drive is attached to).
