I have netscape communicator and want to set a home page. In the preferences section dealing with the home page, the line where you are meant to type in the home page is greyed out with the *live.apple.com*
How do I change it so that I can type in my home page of choice?

Click on the little round button next to the Home Page address, and then you should be able to edit it.

I hope this answers your questions.

That, of course has already been done. The area for typing in an address is still greyed out.

Another way is to go to the page you want to set as your Home Page and then click on the "Use Current Page" button.

Let me know if this works, or if you've already tried this method.

"use Current Page" is also greyed out.
However I found a solution.
1. Shut down netscape and trash all netscape preferences.
2. Restart netscape and fill in individual user info requested that appears during netscape loading.
3. Shut down netscape and exchange bookmarks.html that is in the user folder in the trash with the newly greated one in the netscape user folder.
4. Restart and the ability to change home page is back. ( Back actually after step 2. )
:-)
So here's any easy thirty points for you. Can't give you a good score though.
Cheers.
