This question isn't exactly MFC, it's actually concerning VC5.0. I'll bet somebody can get this, though. I've recently created a new project with VC. It's been my experience that I should see the following in my project pane:
1)My source files I added.
2)Immediately under that, "header files" which are the header files to my .cpps.
3)External dependencies, containing other headers in my project.
Upon creating my latest project, all of the headers are under "external dependencies"! This is not right. Not to mention, now Classview doesn't show anything. I've used these source files in other projects and it works fine.... something wrong with my project settings?
Thanks.

There are a few options:
1) Check for a read only setting of the project files.
2) There is another MsDev running in the background ( opened on the same project ), it could be a proccess that failed to unload. use the task manager in NT or CTRL+ALT+DEL in 95 for removing the process. You may need to reload Windows.
3) Try to drag'n drop the files from External dependencies to the header files folder, and reload the MsDev.
Hope this helps. ;=\

I have actually recovered my old project file, so I don't have the problem anymore.... But I'll try your suggestions if it happens again.
Thanks.
