how can I hide flashing cursor in TMemo text?

dude it's like all fded up...I just did a SetCaretBlinkTime(0) and closed the program and you should see the caret blinking away in the IDE now... it must have something to do with the handle...is there some kind of system wide handle?  dud this sucks...reject the answer sorry...
