Modem crashes Think Pad

Everytime I use my dialup connection I am getting the following error messages:
A fatal exception 0E has occured at 0028:C0241508 in VXD Shell"(10)+ 000001DC
A fatal exception 0E has occured at 0028:C0002493 in
VXD VMM(01) + 00001493
& then the system locks up. I am running Win95 using a
3COM 56K Pc Card Modem. I unistalled the drivers & the dialup connection about 5times can anyone help me!!!

You can try uninstalling and reinstalling mwave and card services, but honestly, call ThinkPad techsupport. I have gone done a similar path, reinstalled Win95 for a simple suspend mode crash that left my machine inoperable. All it need was a simple hibernation file delete. After I was through with the Win95 reinstall, nothing worked and eventually it required to be sent back to Ibm to reformat the drive and reinstall. My best advice to you is call ThinkPad support, they will answer very fast and put you in the *correct* direction. Best of Luck
