System Registry

I would like to know whether there is a way how to find out which entries in the registry cause the system speed to go down and what one can do against it.
Another thing about the registry I´d like to know is whether there is a way to delay the shutdown of windows.

Ok ... let me say it in another way:
What I want to know is how I can cause Win95/Win98 to shutdown, reboot etc. (are there for instance windows messages I may send with SendMessage ?).
And if you know any ... give me some hints how to minimize my system registry. (during two years of using Win95 it became quite big)

1. According to shutdown:
See ExitWindows and ExitWindowsEx functions

2. To delay shutdown process you need to process WM_QUERYENDSESSION message and see about WM_ENDSESSION message

3. To minimize registry:
 .. Simpli reinstall Windows:))))))
