I am relatively new at VB and I have a general question.

Is there some kind of interface / library that exists for VB that allows data transfer through Socket connections?  I.e. I need a library for Winsock with open, close, read, write functionality.

There are many 3rd party ocx's available and VB 5.0 ships with controls which give you socket based connections. I have a "winsock.bas" module which I can pass on to you which gives  code-based access to Winsock - emulating BSD socket calls such as socket() accept() and bind() etc.
Let me know if you want it and I'll email it to you

Can you suggest a more popular 3rd party provider of the library?
