I tried to use .rc with my vb5 application. However, I got some error messages when I complied my .rc file.
Here is an example when I complied my .rc file:

D:\DevStudio\SharedIDE\bin>rc d:\project\vb\editor\cutepad.rc
d:\project\vb\editor\cutepad.rc (20): error RC2144 : PRIMARY LANGUAGE ID not a number
d:\project\vb\editor\cutepad.rc (55): error RC2135 : file not found: STRINGTABLE
d:\project\vb\editor\cutepad.rc (57): error RC2135 : file not found: 100
d:\project\vb\editor\cutepad.rc (58): error RC2135 : file not found: &New
d:\project\vb\editor\cutepad.rc (60): error RC2135 : file not found: END

I used VC++ 5.0 to create my rc file and use rc.exe to complied my .rc file. Someone please help me! Thanks!

P.S. I'm looking for a text file called resource.txt, it located in the \Tools subdirectory of the main Visual Basic directory. (I cant find it in my computer) If you have this file, please email to cutemr2@hotmail.com (includes your experts # in the email). I will give 50pts for this file. Thanks A Lot!

cutetech,

If you are going to use resource file under VB, you could download a resource editor ResEdit.exe from MS VB owner area. It provide a interface to create resource and save/compile to .res (you won't see .rc file). It would be easier than creating and compiling rc file yourself.

 Hope this help.
