ie4 slower than netscape comm?

i hv just upgraded win95 to win98 with ie4 in it.  i still hv netscape communicator.  i found ie4 slower than netscape with the same internet connection and proxy setup. Why?  Is there anything i should check?

You don't mention what you are using for the proxy server.

In direct connection, Ziff-Davis and other have found that under '98, IE4 is faster than Netscape.

The one reason that IE4 would be slower is if you are using active desktop. Unless you have CPU power and ram to burn, this makes IE4 Much Slower!  Right click on the desktop and turn off Active Desktop..... I found it took dual Pentium Pros with NT to make Active Desktop not slow down IE4.... It is on by default.

you means i shouldn't choose"View as Web Page"?
I already unchecked it.
