The Microsoft standard "Jet Database Engine Programmer's Guide" is only really for VisualBasic programmers.  Avoid it.

I also use a "Database Developer's Guide with Visual C++ 4" from Sams publishing (Peter Hipson & Roger Jennings) that does give some ODBC and DAO programming topics.  It does throw in a whole bunch of non-related chapters for volume though.

Thanks psdavis..I'll try to find the book. Anyway I'm still open for other option/books. Any books on MFC database programming by "WROX"?

MFC Visual C++ Professional Mike Blaszcazak ($60.00) has been the best resource I have found.  I have yet to go through the Microsoft Press Visual C++ language resources(~$180 for all four ref.)
