What is the method for creating file server based delphi 2.0 application with Paradox table and BDE 4.51 ? We tried using data-aware components for entreing datas from multiple workstations. But it seems that somehow  the paradox tables are getting locked that we are not being able to locate. It might be of help to mention that the application have two  tables in Master-Details relation. So if one user is editing the data, any other user can not use the same table from same/othe module of the same application form any other workstation.

In BDE configuration utility U must supply a "NET DIR" parameter which must be on your file server, some like
NET DIR | k:\db

where k: is connected always to you server e.g. "\\main\data"
Thats all folks

We have already tried setting the NET DIR parameter of the BDE to a common directory in the Server. But it is still showing that the file is already locked by a specific user. Although it says which user has locked the file, there is no way we can control the locking/unlocking of the .DB files

If you are using EXCLUSIVE open on base you'll get Table locked, other way, the share NET DIR must have read/write access to every one, and third if there a *.lck file delete it before start to work.

- dont leave tables in edit mode in not neccesary
- disable auto edit on any data aware such dbgrid, dbedit ... etc
- use ttable.edit or ttable.insert when you need only.
