MICROTEK SCANNER V310

I have Microtek scanner V310….I have successfully installed " Microtek Parallel Port Host Adapter " but in
Device Manager there is a question mark under Unknown Device and mentioning " Scanner 300A4 "….
Parallel port base address is 378 and EPP….IRQ 7….please help me out……what to do…..
I have tried so many times….one thing more that Printer " HP 870Cxi" is also attached……..printer is printing fine….it means the port is ok……Need Help........

Try using the scanner without the printer attached, attach the scanner directly to printer port, you will always have a problem with hp deskjet sharing printer port.  If what I say works then you will have to add a second printer port to your pc and have the printer on one card and the scanner on the other card.  No work around exsists for this problem.

One more thing you will have to reboot once you hook scanner up to the printer port.
