can anyone comment on the features missing in the visual basic learning edition?

What's left to learn? The contruction of Forms (windows) and the BASIC syntax as it relates to Windows.
The learning edition is just that. It allows a novice to get his/her feet wet in the wonderful world of programming without being overwhelmed. Once you are comfortable, then you move up to the professional edition or the enterprise edition. The latter is usually reserved for corporate development. I use the enterprise at work but have found the professional suits me well at home.
