mass convert file names

I need a program or some kind of utility for the macintosh that will mass convert file names to a specified format...  mean i need to convert about 4000 text files so they can be used over the web, it needs to convert spaces to underscores, slashes to hyphens, and put .txt as a suffix of each file.. anybody know of such a utility?
