RMI Security

Hello,
I wonder if the traffic between a client and server by using RMI is encrypted or not ?

Not if you use default implementation with regular Java sockets. To make the communication encrypted you have to create secure sockets and  instruct RMI to use them.  The standard secure socket implementation is SSL. However nothing prevents you from building encryption into the sockets (JCE) yourself.
