I have re-installed IE 4 as suggested, however during installation a message come up sying C:\program files\outlook express\msimnui.dll  Not installed or corrupted. I re-installed but still no luck. so I re-install outlook express on it`s own. The message said it`s been installed successfully but it still won`t run. When I try to run it by clicking on the mail icon in IE 4`s browser it says c:\progra~1\window~1\exchang32.exe (or one of it`s components) somethings seems to have become muddled!!! (It seems I have the wrong version of MSIMNUI.DLL)

keith,

I had the same problem after uninstalling and reinstalling IE4.0.
I had been to the IE4.0 product support page and had upgraded several times. Other problems forced me to reinstall WIN95 and IE4.0. After(uninstalling and reinstalling ie4.0)basically  starting from scratch I got the symptoms you described.

I installed the Outlook Express update from the microsoft product Download site and all was well.

To get to the IE4.0 products download site.(start ie4.0, click on HELP, click on product updates). Once there let microsoft check your system for possible updates(it will ask you for permission). Once this is completed it will ask you if you want all the latest updates. Click NO.

Scroll down till you see Outlook express update line. Check that one (ONLY) for update. Click on NEXT(bottom left hand corner). (This should keep your download time to a just few minutes.

Pick a site to download from and click update. It is completly automated.

BE SURE TO CLOSE ALL NON ESSENTIAL APPLICATIONS BEFORE DOING THIS. Press and hold <CTRL><ALT> AND press <DELETE> to view programs running in the background.

Hope this helps. It is fairly simple to do and it should not hurt a thing.

This problem caused me much "FRUSTRATION". MY wife almost divorced me for spending too much time sorting out my PC. I also had to re-install WIN95 plus all my other software!!!!It`s taken me a week to get it`s original state.Anyway many thanks for your support and my mental health!!!!!!
