I'm using CScrollView and would like the scrollbar gray out instead of hiding when the displayed picture is smaller than the Window that displays it (no scrolling required). But how do I do that?

Try next:
Get handle of the scroll bar and call EnableWindow( hScrollBar, FALSE ).

I solved the problem myself:

EnableScrollBar( SB_HORZ, ESB_DISABLE_BOTH );
(only wanted the Horizontal scroll to be grayed)

But thanks for the effort!
