got new Domain name - how to connect to site?

I'm new at this, I've registered a domain name and gave the info from my ISP.  I have a web page in Geocities that I want to be connected with from my new name.  Thought I'd use up some points and ask the experts before I start bugging people.

Speak to your ISP or Geocities about web forwarding - it is possible for ISPs to route requests for domain names to other sites, but this is often at a charge.  Finally, does your ISP give you free web space?  If so, it might be an idea to either move or copy your web page from Geocities to your ISP and your problem will be sorted.
