Network Oulook 98 and Local Office 97

Is it true that office 97 cannot be installed if you want to install Outlook 98.

It looks like if you have a Network install of Office 97, Outlook 98 will not install. I found 2 technet articles that referenced this.

You might try uninstalling the Network Office from the client and install Outlook 98 and then reinstalling the Office 97 afterwards. Just a thought

You can run Outlook 98 when you have Office 97 installed.
There is an issue that can cause problems if you try and install the SR-1 service pack

I am sorry. I meant to say "is it true that office 97 cannot be installed locally if you want to install Outlook 98." WE have a network install of Office 97.  When we try to install Outlook 98 it says we have to have office locally.

Strange... I have Outlook installed on 1 of my systems here at work and I don't have Office installed at all.

I will look into this further and get back with you
